The Community Project

The Community Project is a multidimensional project created by Biofeedback Collective and Art Placement. The project is intended to support and strengthen the community of artists in Saskatoon and area through a series of events, workshops, and relational projects.

The Community Project has four primary goals:

1) Foster dialogue and engagement between artists of different generations, cultural backgrounds, and career stage, through knowledge-sharing and exchange

2) Create opportunities to build and nurture professional artistic relationships

3) Provide exhibition opportunities for emerging and underrepresented artists

4) Build a stronger sense of community amongst artists in the city

Feedback with Alexa Hainsworth

2022

A Feedback Session is an artist-led activity which can include an artist talk, a studio tour, or a workshop about process. After each presentation, attending community members will be asked to respond to the activity. The responses will be prompted by a guiding question, community members will have the opportunity to submit these responses to The Community Project website.

Alexa Hainsworth poses 2 prompts to attendees:

1.  How do the materials we choose have surprising and experimental qualities?

2. What associative or nostalgic feelings come up when we look at the materials that are being used?
